BYLGIA is aluminium sailing boat, with which famous Holland sailor Elico Kasemier sailed alone around the world from east to west, around Kapp Horn in years 1976 to 1978.
His sailing adventure around the world was described in drawing book "Alleen rond de wereld" in year 1982. It was written by Gerard van Staaten and Elico Kasemier and was trasnslated in 1986 in German and published by Verlag Delius, Klasing, Deutschland.
Bylgia was built in year 1975 in shipyard Kasteloo under the drawings of Dick Koopmans. It is strong aluminium Koopmans catch sailing boat, with length of 40 feet, 2 masts and long keel.
Today it is sailing in the Mediteranian See under the name Orca with Slovenian flag. It is under good maintance and has new Yanmar motor, rool sails, steering wheel, diesel generator, autopilot, electronic navigation, anchorwinch and many other equipment.
